Non-rechargable? You must spend a fortune on batteries then, for less than a tenna, you can have a charger and set of high-capacity rechargeable, that will last at least 500 charges, if not many more. Not to mention the green aspect ;)

nope, the same 2 batteries have been in the camera since we had it last year, the batteries arent kept in the camera 24/7, we only put them in when the camera is needed

Energiser charger and 4 x 2500mAh AA batteries - £14.99 at Morrisons. Just bought one!

c_ronaldo - if you hardly use the camera the batteries will last ages!

Disposables in my new camera last about a day, hence the rechargeable route.

You obviously don't take many pictures then! ;)

(I take anything between a couple of hundred and a couple of thousand per month, but with semi-pro / pro gear!)
  • i purchased a kodak battery and charger for my kodak camera from amazon.seems to hold charge well and doesnt take long to charge battery up.

  • I use Fujicell 2800 mAh AA rechargeables....got them from www.batteryvault.co.uk

Very reasonably priced at £5.99 for a 4pk and last a long time. I've been taking quite a few pics as well.

Uniross Hybrio are very good - only 2100 mAh but they hold their charge; you can charge them up fully and not use them for months and they will still be ready to go. (I didn't believe this but found it to be true.)

I use these in my Canon S3 and get about 400 shots on one full charge.

EDIT : Just realised that AndysDad said the same thing further up. Oh well, it pays to have a second opinion

Rechargeable batteries probably won't last as long as disposables

I don't think this is the case - you should get more photos out of a set of fully-charged rechargeables than from a set of disposables.
  • These would be a good start. I use 2600mAh versions myself as a backup for my DSLR.

You can get a charger plus batteries here
