sorry, i obviously didn't explain clearly.

the 600g Helman's mayonnaise was on sale at the 99p store.

    Hence, it is very inexpensive.

the sainsbury's price i only put to compare, as i assumed people would realize it was 99p. sorry, i was too confusing obviously.

next time i will make sure it is obvious it is from the 99p store.

89p for 400g is obviously a lot dearer.

Well, I understood you prior to you having to edit your post, buddy! :D
  • err, where is this 99pence store?
  • 99p stores are all over the place (they're a chain, like poundland, but obviously a penny cheaper). Ones that I know of are in Ilford and Walthamstow (E Londonish) If you give an idea of where you are (or your nearest major town) then maybe someone can point you in the right direction. HTH

99p stores are more prolific than Poundland and stock much more. Sometimes you can even get whole 48 pack/tin boxes of foodstuffs/drinks for 99p, though you have to check the use-by dates carefully on their products as some have a VERY short shelf life. Personally I'd ignore use-by dates on most things apart from meat/fish.
