Cashback Credit Cards - where to use AMEX

This is my first thread so sorry if I go wrong!!
I have been following Martin's advice about not using Debit Cards and instead getting myself a Cashback Credit Card. I've decided from his articles that I would be best to go for the American Express Blue card, but as he notes you cannot use American Express everywhere, I wondered if other moneysavers could advise me of the big names where you can/can't use it please??
