i have to admit the village jinky lives in was two extremes on the one side you have the multi millionaires and on the other you have alot of the poorest in scotland (church of scotland survey found that wee nugget out) so the millionaires go about spending loadsa dosh in the fancy wine shop the poor try and sell the big issue and the people that are generally classed as normal (whatever that is) (like jinky and i (when i lived there)) get shafterd for everything ....they put no facilities into the village at all ...
    .

Just like Glasgow then! mind you there are facilities there but the extremes are very extreme.

The area I live in is a cluster of small ex mining villages, so they use words like

    Ken
    Ganna (Going to )
    Bait (lunch)
    Owwer (Over)

My OH is from Lancashire and he couldnt understand my Grandad at all for the first few years, he speaks broad Pit-matic which is almost a language of its own.
But these things take time, I know that I'm, the most inept that ever stepped.

Well I have a north east accent without the slang:D I am not broad like Ant & Dec or Sheryl Tweedy but you can still tell I am from the North East.

That's true Beanie, we take a lot for granted really and we're lucky we can do that.

I spent yet more money today but it's cold, I need jumpers and the sales are just too good. still not too much damage I suppose! £25 on jumpers, I remember the days that wouldn't have covered an arm...

I am desperate for some winter clothes but I get so stressed when trying things on. I am down to 1 pair of jeans and 2 decent jumpers:rolleyes:

By the way Skinty, Mozza is playing some Scotland dates including Glasgow. On sale tomorrow at 10.00am:D

I am going to try and get tickets for Hartlepool as its only 4 miles from me:j

I'm definitely finished now Lou! I was at the nothing to wear last month but now although I've not lost much weight yet I can get into lots more of my clothes plus there have been a few additions lately... it's good though as now it's more "ooo, what shall I wear" than "what's clean and fits".
I did see that about Glasgow and I'm thinking about it, although I know I shouldn't...
