Good news Skinty. As others have said, i bet they owe more. I remember a friend of mine being very critical about what others owe and would blab it around, until i pointed out her car loan, credit and store cards which she spent on and not including monies borrowed off me! I didn't spread that around, but told her i wouldn't listen to what she was gossiping about because i felt it was a case of kettle calling pot black..i never let on what we owe either to her..but if she ever found out i would have ammo to use! Sad really, but i know where you are coming from.Blackadder: Am I jumping the gun, Baldrick, or are the words 'I have a cunning plan' marching with ill-deserved confidence in the direction of this conversation?

Actually most of them know almost how much I owe as I have said that I'm trying to pay the car off asap so almost all of it is car now at 0%. but on paper I have such a reasonable amount of disposable income it's hard to believe I could be so rubbish with money. But the old me was! not now though...Mortgage OP 2025 £6250/7000Mortgage OP 2024 £7700/7000

I don't hide the fact i have a car loan or anything like that, i just don't tell her about the nitty gritty stuff. I suppose i explained myself badly, as some of my friends are great and wouldn't comment if folks were belt tightening, she, however, would use it as an excuse to get at someone. One comment she made about someone who didn't go on holiday one year was "oh, how the mighty have fallen!" I just don't understand what planet she lives on.
But i know what you mean about the old versus the new you. I think it is great to shop smarter and get the best possible deals on everything..i am forever quoting Martin and quidco.Blackadder: Am I jumping the gun, Baldrick, or are the words 'I have a cunning plan' marching with ill-deserved confidence in the direction of this conversation?

She had deep insecurities about money and stows a lot of self-esteem in material things. Probably someone who will fall apart if she loses her job."Follow the money!" - Deepthroat (AKA William Mark Felt Sr - Associate Director of the FBI)

I've converted lots of people at work to quidco but none of my friends! which is weird as we are all skint and tend to have cheap nights in and save money where we can - there's no saving face with us!Mortgage OP 2025 £6250/7000Mortgage OP 2024 £7700/7000

had a very stressful start to the evening - bird in the kitchen! it decided to make an appearance during dinner much screaming from me and DS but I managed to persuade it to leave eventually. soooo blue tits are still around at this time of year after all...the upside was that it didn't get too scared if you know what I mean - could have been very messy.Mortgage OP 2025 £6250/7000Mortgage OP 2024 £7700/7000
