How do you like been treated when you're ill? Fussed all the time? Or left alone to recover?

I do like to be on my own with minimum fussing but he's only wee and needs nagging to drink water - it's taken an hour for him to drink half a glass. I shall try to ignore him unless he squeaks.:o

This might sound mad but I've been trying to convince myself that I should stay here for another 3 and a half years and pay the mortgage off before selling up! Mad! it is the sensible thing to do financially but not what I WANT to do.
Have been thinking a lot about life after debt...once the debt has gone I hope that I'll remember that although £5 here and there won't take me back to the poorhouse that if I buy lunch out every work day of the year I'm doing myself out of a good part of a holiday (eg 46 x5x5=£1150).

If you paid the mortgage off, would you *need* to sell up?

What's rentals like in that area?

In the final analysis - money is your servant and not your master. If you don't want to live there, you don't want to live there. Misery is not a sensible thing to do - even if it is the cheapest way to live.

As with so many things - moderation... ;)

I am so rubbish at double quotes so Z - I probably won't do it but it's tempting in some ways and I suppose the fact that it's now an option is a new freedom in itself.

Beanie, awww you jealous? Enjoy your indian meal, even better when you're not paying. Is your sky fixed yet?

Wow lucky you skint on 3 years left on your mortgage.
But you need to be happy where you live.I know Im lucky as I have a nice wee bungalow in a nice area & to a degree thats my choice as for now I would rather that than no mortgage in an area I hate.
TRhat may well change when DS leaves school though.

No Beanie, actually I've 20 years left but if I overpaid as much as I have been paying on the debts THEN it could be paid in 3 years - sorry I wasn't too clear there! maybe if I did something about the decor and the sound proofing I would be happier here though? or maybe not!:o

Yes. Debt takes away freedom, savings bring it back.
