Credit card for a 19 year old? with a slight twist

Hey i'm currently looking for a credit card with a large limit. I have saw cards which say you need to be 21 and making £20k , 25 and making £35k etc . Now i'm 19 and i'm making well above the amount needed for say Platinum cards etc.. so would i still be aloud to apply even though im under the age limit they stated?

Thanks.

    Nope I would doubt it.

The card companies IT system would probably straight decline you for not meeting a basic underwriting criteria

Just get more than one card. For large purchases like your Lambo, split it over several cards.

Seriously just ask them though. The 20k for Platinum/gold whatever is just gimmicky status symbols. Means nothing now.

Alliance and leicester told me straight out that I need 5 years of address history to get their credit card, and Virgin told me that I need 3 years.

However I have only 2 years of address history, yet both accepted me for credit cards. So it's worth a shot.

In saying that, I got declined for the Amex Platinum even though I meet all their criteria that they state.
You're spelling is effecting me so much. Im trying not to be phased by it but your all making me loose my mind on mass!! My head is loosing it's hair. I'm going to take myself off the electoral role like I should of done ages ago and move to the Caribean. I already brought my plane ticket, all be it a refundable 1.

You're doing well to be earning such a large salary at your age, especially seeing as you can't spell! lol sorry..... pet peeve of mine that!

I doubt you'd get past the application stage unless you rang up and spoke to a human, however, as some other posters say, the computer would probably say 'no' anyway

    hmmm that is strange.....

so u earn so much why do u want a credit card, just load it all on ur current account and go spending ....and you will defenitly decline for everything ....

U dont need to have straight 3 years in one adress u can have 2 in one adress and 1 in ur previous adress .....

try halifax there minimum age is 18 ...i just applied im 20 and earn around 22k a year. They only have me a 2k limit.

Get a cred card through your bank:)
They already have your address details for the last 3 years, AND proof of your income.

Amex don't follow the rules. They gave a 17 year old who was earning nothing his very own Centurion.

With Amex if you daddy has a Centurion he can "pursuade" them to give you any card below that... Like a Platinum... Heck, I don't think Amex is going to turn down someone spending a minimum of £125k a year on there card...

Now I would love to get a Centurion... *dreams*

I'm not convinced I could actually manage to spend £125K in one year!
