Noise on front wheel?

Hi

I have a 5 year old Picasso and for about 2 weeks when i make a tight manuvere to the right im getting a noise - as is something is loose/knocking - a metal on metal noise.

Ive taken it into Kwik Fit who could find nothing wrong with the car - any ideas what it could be?

Put wheel on full lock and drive round in a circle (both ways). If it does it even more its a CV joint on the drive shaft.

That can only be a good thing, usually you need new shock absorbers, pads, shoes, discs and drums when you go there :D

    It could be anything...

As Anewman said - you are lucky to get out of there wallet intact.

Is there a good independent garage near you? Probably a stupid question, cos if you knew of one, you would have gone there in the first place.... :o

Ask friends and colleagues of a garage they can recommend. Can't beat word of mouth.

lol @ anewman, i think the people at Kwik Fit are fitters not mechanics so maybe a "proper" mechanics garage is required.

Based on what you say I would say so. No idea how much that sort of thing costs on a Picasso, but I don't think it should cost any more than £150.

sounds like a c.v. joint to me.
do the test the others have recommended, drive with steering in full lock in both directions, the noise should be more prominent then.

Sounds like the classic curriculum vitae joint problem.
