depends on your spending with them, they can bend over backwards for you if you spend a lot, after at least 12 months.

    give them a call

I was thinking about this with T-Mobile.

I'm on £35 per month tariff. 12 months is up in a week or two. So, after 12 months I can downgrade to the cheapest tariff and terminate early. Cost here would be £15*6 = £90 (maybe less, I dont think you pay vat). Then, I would effectively be free to go elsewhere, get a free phone, go on a new £35 per month contract or whatever. So, really there could only be a small difference (£90) between negotiating now and at the end of 18 months.

I was going to suggest to my operator (once 12 months is up) to charge me £90 and I'll take whatever they're offering new customers (or what is being offered elsewhere). In fact with the cashback deals they (operators, dealers) do, maybe it's even possible to get this reduced.

Worth asking about I think. If they say no you can always tell them you'll pay the remainder of the contract and go elsewhere as you wouldn't be any worse out of pocket with many of the cashback deals people offer (phones4u offered me £50 cashback in-store whilst you can get more online, so could effectively cover the terminatino costs that way).

  • ok cool thanks for the advice, i will give them a call and see what they can do... Is there a particular department that i should ask to speak with, i know that on 3 you are much more likely to get good offers when they call you (at the end of on contract).

I think i am in a strong position because I have 2 contracts with them, one for me and one for my partner..

ATM paying £25 a month for me... £18 for the o/h..
