I do agree that with proper health and safety measures you can prevent most things, but... and I appreciate you might not agree... I'd not want to take the chance of harming my baby by such a simple prevention of either a) making partner deal with the "mess" or b) waiting till after the baby is born to introduce a new cat into the house...DFW Nerd #025DFW no more!
