Plus they're run by a racist homophobe, if you like that sort of thing.

    They are?!?

Well in the last few months I've definitely been hearing of some worrying things on these forums, people having their credit card details used by OCUK employees for example. The fact they wouldn't deliver to me because I "live in Ireland" pretty much sealed it for me and then blaming it on their "system". It definitely put me off using them and that was long before all these other things started popping up about them.

(BTW at the time I was "living in Ireland" my address was actually in Durham, North East of England)

Why did they think you lived in Ireland, and why wouldn't they deliver to you because of it?

At the time (don't know if it's changed) but standard delivery was only to Mainland UK. I presume they thought "County Durham" sounded Irish even though they'd delivered to me before. I was on the phone quite a while trying to convince them of where Durham was, "near Newcastle" still drew a blank. I'd never before actually had to give the actual geographical location of a city or town before a company delivered to me.

Oh I see....maybe they got County Durham confused with County Down, where there is also a town called Newcastle.

Don't know if he (Mark Proudfoot AKA Spie) still does it and the existing posts have probably been removed but he'd post openly racist and homophobic things on the OCUK forums.

That seems a strange thing to do on your own forums.

But doesn't have a Durham City though, and I actually said "Newcastle in the North East of England". And they posted something only the week before without hassle. But apparently it was their "computer system" that brought it up as Ireland. Yeah right.

Well that just instils confidence in purchasing computers from them, doesn't it?

Their prices are half-decent when they've got offers on, but the same could be said for anywhere. Ebuyer/Aria/Scan are consistently cheap, and probably not neo-nazis.

    Probably.
