Aria have some dirt cheap smallish SATA drives these days.

    320GB Sata2 - £23.44
    160GB Sata - £21.09
    250GB Sata - £28.14
    250GB Sata2 - £23.44

Have had a response from ASRock who say that mobo does not support SATA II but to set SATA II drive to 1.5 Gb/s? I'm assuming they mean a SATA II drive will work but just as a SATA rather than SATA II! I've asked them to clarify what they mean!!!
I'm mad!!!! :rotfl::jand celebrating everyday every year!!!

Hate to burst the bubble, but overclockers uk seem to have better prices than DABS, admitedly you do have to pay a fair whack for postage, but the prices are significantly cheaper than elsewhere, plus their website is very well designed.
Ubuntu is an ancient African word, meaning: 'I can't configure Debian'.

www.scan.co.uk have good prices, but as with Dabs, if you want quality customer service (returns etc), look elsewhere.

Guess everyone has their own experiences but I've found scan's CS to be excellent and always gone way beyond what's expected of them (in my experience and dealings with them). I also tend to find them cheaper for me than elsewhere when taking postage into account with other places (i.e. free postage when I use Scan). So they tend to be my preferred supplier (although I usually wait until things come on the today only page).

That's who I use for my purchases. Their postage may be more expensive, but they use Citilink Courier rather than Royal Mail or anyone else and they're quick.

Haven't used overclockers in years. Don't find them competative when I look for stuff. Also I kind of stopped ordering when they started to refuse delivering to me and it took me ages to convince them that I did not live in Ireland. (Geography is certainly not their strong point)

I agree with you re. Scan, and personally haven't a problem, but several people post customer service issues with them - whenever I recommend them - so it's my caveat ;)

Dabs on the other hand, customer service / returns etc - appalling.

I still can't get off Dabs postal mailing list, 2 years after starting the requests (and being guaranteed it would be removed), tried 'phone, post, e-mail and via their website, thought it had finally worked, but yesterday I had net another catalogue to a old address - very annoying!

Haven't bought anything myself from dabs in years either. I also still get all the catalogues but I'm not too bothered as my dad likes to read it.

Plus they're run by a racist homophobe, if you like that sort of thing.

Well in the last few months I've definitely been hearing of some worrying things on these forums, people having their credit card details used by OCUK employees for example. The fact they wouldn't deliver to me because I "live in Ireland" pretty much sealed it for me and then blaming it on their "system". It definitely put me off using them and that was long before all these other things started popping up about them.

(BTW at the time I was "living in Ireland" my address was actually in Durham, North East of England)
