I too agree the negative feedback is OK due to what happened, probably too early but is still correct.
Going back to the OP concerns:
Paypal will wait for 10 days for seller to respond before it can be review by their staff or you can escalate the claim now and wait for paypal to give you a solution.
Problem is that you never know what Paypal can do and if they will actually be in your favor and I believe they will ask you for proof of the item returned before giving you any money....Someone may probably clarify/confirm this...thks

I don't think anyone is disputing that the OP has been badly done by.

Of course she is upset, as I think most of us would be, and made even worse by the frustration of trying to communicate with the seller and not hearing anything back.

The next logical step is the PayPal dispute, and then I would leave feedback appropriate to the final outcome.

I don't know if you can still request to mutually withdraw feedback, or whether there is a different procedure in place now, or maybe it is no longer an option. Yes hindsight is a wonderful thing but perhaps a lesson for next time (not that I am wishing similar circumstances on the OP again) is not to jump into feedback when you are stressed and upset, because as human beings we just don't think straight under these circumstances!

Best of luck with getting the matter resolved, and if all comes good in the end you can always post a follow-up comment to the negative that was left stating that the seller made communication after you left feedback and the issue was resolved.

Whether you would consider attempting to remove the negative (if you can) is up to you, and clearly depends on the final outcome. There really isn't much excuse for poor communication and if it took a negative to get the seller's attention it doesn't say much for him.

    Only 2 years ago? ;)

I remember trying to sell blank minidisc cassettes in the shop I used to work in over 4 years ago and we couldn't shift them.
