I found that I couldn't get jeans for my boys but most other clothes were stretchy enough to go over washables. You get a feel for what clothes are cut right. Occasionally I'd have trouble with slim cut dungarees for example.
Terries were best for us. Cheaper, very hardwearing and a doddle to use once the newborn stage was past and I could just fold it into a pad shape and use a motherease rikki wrap to hold it in place - no pins, no nappy nippa, no complicated folds. Kushies were good too, particularly the smaller size.
The nappy lady should be good for trying out what works best for you and your baby though.May all your dots fall silently to the ground.0 -
I bought a pack of vest extenders which helped with vests and bodysuits:

sorry to butt in but where is best place to sell washable nappies? What's for you won't go past you0

usednappies.co.uk I think. Ebay won't let you sell them as they are waste?? or something like that.
As for clothes fitting over nappies, I just use next size up and turn the trousers up.0 -
I have a little lambs size 1 brand new with wrap and a motherease size 1 with wrap brand new. PM me if anyone wants them and are willing to pay for me to post

p.s if anyone is worried about the impact on the environment there are disposable ones that waste away the cheapest are sainsburys own eco brand and nature boy or girl... I have used nature boy or girl on both of my children and find they are great! They feel alot more papery than "normal" nappies BUT that's because they don't have bunches of chemicals etc in them.
Boots and tesco tend to do offers on them2 packs for £10 or whatever
