Costco in Cardiff

Got to be honest I went last Thursday and I couldn't see what all the fuss is about. Apart from the offers with the vouchers, like the oxyaction for £2 and 2kg of Flora for £1.50, the stuff there was no cheaper than Tesco etc, especially when they have BOGOF etc.
Maybe when they send out more vouchers I'll save more money, but I don't see how people can do weekly/monthly shopping there cheaper than the supermarkets.0 -

There are things that are cheaper in the supermarket but there are also some really good bargains if you look.
yeaterday I got an Actifry for 105.00, the cheapest on the web is 119.00,
I also bought a pack of 4 scotch Brite lint rollers for about 5.80, these are about 3.50 EACH in tesco.
I also got a massive Schwartz Jar 260g of chilli flakes for 2.39, in sainsburys it is £4.59 for 100g of the Schwartz
and 88p for 33g of their own brand.
I also got a pack of 5 phillips halogen bulbs for 2.07, these are much dearer in tesco, even their value ones are 99p each.0 -
Hi everyone,
I went there for the first time a week ago. I'm a single person with no dependants and my overriding thoughts whilst going round were "This would be really great for families". I found alot of stuff reasonable, got a big 3KG box of Porridge oats for myself. It's also good for fresh fruit, especially big packs of berries which I can freeze and save money on. Their deli and fresh meat counter looks good. You can get huge freshly made pizza's for about £8 or so. They have alot of random seasonal good (who wants a hovercraft?!). As other people have said you have to pay out a bit more in advance, but big packs will keep you going longer so you will save. Don't think i'll be doing all my shopping there, but good for stocking up on some things.

I love this place and had been a member of the Bristol one for several years before they came to Cardiff. Their meat is brilliant and if you have the storage space then you can definately bulk up on loads of different items. Their books are really good value (much cheaper than high st shops) and we've bought so many other things from there that are good value, photo paper, pens, hand made cards, nappies, golf clubs. Always find nice thigs for Christmas there.
We also got the Actifry there and hadn't fond it anywhere near that cheap on the web.
Some things are the same price as supermarkets, so if you know your prices then you'll be fine, its one of those places that you sometimes get luck, other times not so, but over the course of the year you definately save.0 -
Costco is amazing my parents have both joined so i get to tag along. during the day they have tasters which are amazing!! i've been given biscuits, salmon fishcakes, muffins, chicken nuggets, all things wonderful. if people are thinking it's too expensive then maybe one person could join, and they could take the other 2 in for free. my parents own a shop so they have made back in the membership fee already.0

I had a look around there a few days ago. There seemed to be some reasonable bargains to be had but probably nothing that you couldn't buy online for about the same price. It was £25 for me to join, so I didn't bother. I already have a (free) Makro card and I couldn't see the point of paying £25 for what seemed pretty much like another Makro card.
It was quite an interesting hour I spent there though. It was a lovely day, I was on my bike and the new stadium actually looked quite impressive close up.0 -
They had Chloe bags there!!!
I bought some excellent quality merino wool jumpers.
Also saw Levi and Diesel jeans for good prices.
The meat looked particularly good.
High end whiskey and champers was good value toode do-do-do, de dar-dar-dar0 -

I went to cosco Cardiff as a guest and I loved it. So clean and what fantastic value and the quality of goods was exceptionally high. I got the form and I am going to join, I think I can save the membership fee on my first visit0
