Help! My boiler cannot be adjusted the temperature!

I just move to new renting house which I will stay for only a year. I found out that I cannot adjust the temperature at the boiler. So the hot water is extremely hot and this is a waste of gas. I am sure the bill for the gas will be much more expensive compare with using lower temperature (of hot water).
I already asked Landlord and he confirmed that he cannot do anything because this boiler is set by the factory. Is it true??????? is there any boiler that we cannot adjust the temperature??? The boiler is quite new so I think there might be some button inside to change the temperature but might need to untie some knots at the cover.
Please help! or give some suggestion. Thanks so much:T

I know nothing about boilers but post the make/model and someone might help. I think the hot water tank normally has some kind of thermometer, rather than the boiler itself.
Can you not just turn the boiler on for a short period of time to warm the water you need then turn it off? or have it on a timer? Mine is set to come on for 10 mins in the morning and 10 in the evening and this is enough to heat the water for OH to shave in the morning & do dishes etc in evening.Wiggly:heartpulsFB0 -
Thank you very much for your reply.
I just check the model. It's Vokera option. Btw, I set a time for the boiler too but it is only for central heating. water from hot tap is always hot. So I guess the time set is only applied for heating. 0 -
There was another thread about just this point recently, and you couldn't set the water temperature on that boiler.0

On the Vokera website you can download the installation instructions which include instructions on how to change the temperature setting. I think you need to get someone to do it as it involves removing stuff, if you know what I mean.
The Option is a combi boiler, so timing is only on the heating, hot water is not stored but heated on demand.0 -

Hi there,
Thank you so much for your reply. I have check out their website http://www.vokera.co.uk/index.asp
However I cannot really find where I can download the instructions. Could you please point me a bit more how to go to the link I can download. Thank you again in advance.0 -
I went to the website and found a list of boilers, but yours was not on it. At the bottom there is an option to choose discontinued models, that is where I found it. There is a users' manual and installation/servicing manual, you need the latter. The temperature adjustment is mentioned on page 16.
As semi computer-illiterate, I'm afraid I don't know how to do links! But I will find it and give the address.
The page your boiler is listed on is www.vokera.co.uk/discontinued.asp
Hope that works!0 -
