I'm new to this so apologies if i'm posting wrong.
I set up msn on my mobile and went through a whole list of their instructions. When it came to the page asking what I'd like to be alerted for I opted not to be alerted for any new emails or any new msn instant messages as they charge for this. All day I've been getting text messages alerting me to new emails in my inbox  I've spent the better part of the evening trying to cancel this, I've went through the proper channels and when i send myself a tester email low and behold i get a text message alerting me to the new email    I'm by no means a dunce when it comes to using computers but this has me pulling my hair out. I've tried finding an email address for customer support but can't locate it
Please please please help a girl out. Thanks

PS - I just logged into my hotmail account - I do not have mobile alerts set up.
But I guess if I did then in Tools->Options you should should find the way to turn it off as suggested in above article.0 -
Is it really bad that following all those instructions i still can't get the stupid thing turned off? I think its getting too late for me (thats my excuse and i'm sticking to it). Thanks loads for the link, its bringing me to pages I had been through earlier. I'm obviously missing something - i'm such a dunce!!0

You have to login to your into your Hotmail email Account (http://hotmail.com)
In Hotmail go to the Options and look under "
Customize your mail"
which mentions something about receiving Alerts0 -
Thank you so much for taking the time to help me.
When I followed that link and signed in and went to options, it gives me a link for alerts but when i click on it its a link to set up new alerts  Please do not start pulling your hair it, its bad enough that i'll have to blame my baldness on my own stupidity but I couldn't handle the guilt of you ending up bald lol0 -
You can try going https://www.msn.co.uk and then Mobile and find something in there.
Also found this page http://www.msn.co.uk/msnhelp/msnmobile/printHotmailCommands/ but I cant see how these "commands" are to be used - assuming you have to reply to someone by text?0
