I rang to find out which model of tomtom they are offering and got told that only a select few were offered this via email and that a code on that email would have to be required to carry this offer out.

    there's always one

that's probably ruined it for anyone else now......

I was just wondering where or how you found this offer out as I rang to find out which model of tomtom they are offering and got told that only a select few were offered this via email and that a code on that email would have to be required to carry this offer out.

edited due to ringing them again and being told that they will honor this offer due to someone posting it on a certain money saving site lol so a big thank you to the OP for this one.

Basically by ringing them you have now just tipped them off and they will probably NOT honour the deal from now on........ great work

I'm sorry if this is what I have done it was not my intention.

    there's always one

that's probably ruined it for anyone else now......

again I did not set out to ruined it for everyone and I apologise

I wasn't expecting any of it and your right I am an ungrateful person, thank you for pointing this out in a caring manner so that I feel so much better about myself after finding out from other caring posters that I've !!!!ed this up for everyone else.

I'm really sorry that I didn't think before I rang and have upset alot of peeps but this was not my intention. tho I don't feel that a personal attack about my past was really warranted. I always thought that once off the benefits peeps would stop looking down on me but I gather I was wrong and this will stay with me for life.

Anyway as I have pointed out many times now I am truly very sorry if my actions have caused this offer to be withdrawn it really wasn't what I wanted or was aiming to do. I hope some of you can forgive me for making this mistake and I will never ring anyone about offers again .

That is completely uncalled for, the poster made a mistake for which she has apologised for, personal attacks are really not necessary and say more about you than they do about the person on benefits.

thanks cruella for your post but I have just reread my post about ringing them up and may have given the mistaken impression that I had informed the company about the thread on here where this is untrue as I never said where I got my info from and it was them that informed me that it had been posted on this site of which I said "really I don't know about any money saving sites and that if this was the case they have done your company a favour as it will drum up loads of business for you".
anyway I'm sure moneyluva is sorry for their comment

Sorry??? Not really, it wasnt a comment aimed solely at you. The benefits system was intended to be a SHORT term assistance programme to assist people who found themselves out of work WITHOUT choice, especially those affected by the sudden lost industry in this country. Since then its been abused. It should cover for basic food, shelter and heat PERIOD, no fags, Sky, mobiles and especialy NOT holidays. It strikes me that if you have stayed on benefits until your 35th, you have been on them for a while, children should be no excuse, childcare is there, its just that benefits pays so well theres no incentive.

Basically, your tag wound me up, if you had said "finally managed to get off of benefits" fine, thats good, but your tag suggests this has been a "long term goal", I find that annoying and Im allowed my opinion as one of the dwindling few who still funds this kind of lifestyle... I do know however that its not completely your fault, I blame the government and "PC" people like cruella (who need to wake up and take a look at whats happening, preferably before this country is destroyed!!!) not those who take advantage of a VERY weak system.

As for "staying with you for life" lets not over dramatise. I applaud you for having the gumption to find a job, (providing its not a 16hr special to get even MORE money out of the system) especially as the age of your kids would mean that you could live COMFORTABLY off of the state for many years to come. Perhaps the text format of your tag does not relay your true intention?

Finally, for the record I DONT look down on anyone on benefits who truly needs to be on them, thats what they are for and its one of the remaining few things left thats good about this country. HOWEVER, I cannot tolerate those who see it as an option to gainful employment. It pure and simply offers to good a lifestyle for certain claimants at the moment and I know what Im talking about as I used to be in that sector before the "PC brigade" chip in. Lets face it, if you had been given enough for only basic rations and heat etc would you have stayed on them and put your kids through it or would you have found a better paying job??? No brainer really and thats my point.

Anyway, at least you have acknowledged the "error" I think we all know it was not intentional. Peace.
  • Goodness Moneyluva, you are full of assumptions today!

Just for the record I am fully aware of 'whats going on in this country' and have never been part of the 'PC Brigade' thank you.

Although if being 'PC' is taking exception to people making uncalled for personal attacks then that's fine by me.

Not assumption, fact and yes you are PC and yes its that kind of weak attitude towards what is a MASSIVE problem that its ruining the infrastructure of this country.

As for personal attacks, youre doing a fine job in return so get off your horse, wind your neck in and look up "Hypocrisy" love. The words "cage" and "rattle" come to mind......

    Peace out :A

Now lets get back to the Tomtom for free thread shall we????
