    Hi there,

Do you have a Children's Centre/Sure Start centre near by? You can google Sure Start and it will give you a list of local centres. They often have loads of free activites on over the summer for 0-4 and I live by their timetable over the summer.

Also check out your local authority website/County Council website/Foresty Commission website...there are often activities that are free/low cost that you can join in on. Check out your library service as well and local museums for activities.

You could maybe try pond dipping (wellies essentail) which my kids love and it keeps them entertained for a good hour if not longer. Can you let her loose with the digital camera and take photos of her day to build up a scrap book of her summer? And of course, if the weather holds, there is always the paddling pool!

Have a great time and cherish every moment...

I'm having trouble finding cheap (free ;)) summer holiday activities for my kids too. They are 13,10,9 and 3 months. Getting bored of the library/park. Any ideas for the older kids?
Thanks to everyone who posts comps, I love winning prizes big and small

Agree with looneyleo. Children's centres are a great help.

How about getting the paddling pool out and having a water fight?

my DD and I are having one night a week where she cooks under my guidance, tonight we turned the lounge into a cafeteria with teds as extra guests and she wrote out a menu and took orders from me and her brother and we did it all on trays with kitchen towel as napkins etc. (i paid my bil..fab dinner for 50p! LOL!)

    shell collecting at the seaside

research on place you are going on holiday too or planning a visit too?
buy a cheap scrapbook or staple some sheets together. we went in travel agents and found some brochures to cut up and did a bit of internet research on things for her to cut and stick about france.

um...will see what else springs to mind....

oh and of course pretend to be a friendly paramedic when they try to kill each other and bandage them up for real!
