Using Mobile in States

Hi

I'm going to the States in September and would welcome any advice on the cheapest way to make calls during my visit

Currently I'm on O2 contract, Ive just called them to find calls will cost £1.37 / min (which is ridiculous), Apparently if i use there international tariff costing £3 the cost of calls will go down to 90p /min.

I'll be traveling around for 2 weeks and will mainly need to make local calls (usa to usa) to book hotels etc

Any advice will be very appreciated

Something like what 0044.co.uk offer might do the trick. You are best off making local calls there from a callbox. In the US you pay to receive calls.

I think T-mobile USA do pay-as-you-go there too. It is very cheap for people from here to call you on a US number from a landline.

If you are only going to do USA to USA then perhaps a local sim is your best option as on any UK tariff 80ppm is going to be the lowest.

Alhough T Mobile I think have good USA rates, they even allow you to use your minute bundle.
