OK good, it seems to be working now

The 1 after the account simply means you've created 2 email accounts for Firefly and can delete the old one which didn't seem to work. In Outlook Express, click Tools - Accounts - Mail tab. You probably have:
mail.fireflyuk.net
mail.fireflyuk.net (1)
Click on mail.fireflyuk.net and click Remove.
If you like, you can change the name of the remaining mail.fireflyuk.net (1) account by clicking on it, clicking Properties and typing in a name such as Firefly.0
