Give This A Bump.It is nice to see the value of your house going up'' Why ?
Unless you are planning to sell up and not live anywhere, I can;t see the advantage.
If you are planning to upsize the new house will cost more.
If you are planning to downsize your new house will cost more than it should
If you are trying to buy your first house its almost impossible.0 -
happy to.

Just clicked the link. Went through the whole installation again. Launched Property Hive.
It says "Property Hive - Prototype. Loading Data"
Then that clears and ... nothing
It's just sat there.
No clues what to do, nothing TO do.
Ah, found SEARCH tab, typed in one town name in "Description contains" and got
"Unhandled exception has occurred in your application. If you click Continue the application will ignore this error and attempt to continue. If you click Quit the applicatin will close immediately"
"The value for the column 'Status' in table 'Property' is DBNull
Which sounds to me like .... it can't find any data. As it never could.
A simple set of instructions would have helped months ago, or even now. A clue maybe. A starter for 10 perhaps.
The exception text shows a path to a user called Mark. Who must be the developer. I wonder if that's relevant.
System.Data.StrongTypingException: The value for column 'Status' in table 'Property' is DBNull. ---> System.InvalidCastException: Unable to cast object of type 'System.DBNull' to type 'System.String'.

Or is it just not finding my Property Bee data because ... one or the other of something is in a different/wrong location.0 -

This is a old original post.
Just reinstalled it after reformating my computer a couple of months ago. Works perfectly, just download it to the suggested file.
Prices are just a sea of red with a couple of green at the bottom:eek::exclamatiScams - Shared Equity, Shared Ownership, Newbuy, Firstbuy and Help to Buy.

That is what I did. I just installed it where it wanted it. I didn't change a thing. Just chose Run and lots of NEXTs. Then it says loading data .... and there's nothing. Absolutely no data loaded. Nowt. Zilch. This is a old original post.

Now, Property Bee is holding data somewhere.... and at one point you could change that. And I might have done. And in the next version that option had gone. Property Bee works fine. Hive never has.
Edit: I am now exporting the PB CSV directly into the same directory as Hive. See if that makes any difference. It should be able to see it in there.
Edit: Nope. Nothing. Not a dicky bird. It still does what it did: Load Hive, it says loading data, that message goes and there's no data.0 -

Sorry.. I don't have any ideas about property hive
Don't know if ChumpusRex posts here but you can find him on a certain house price crash website0 -
new programme a nifty firefox plugin I've been using for some months now, called PropertyChimp http://userscripts.org/scripts/show/31220
What PropertyChimp does is, for the houseprices.co.uk website, it displays a new link, when you click on that link it gathers all previous sales lines for that property together and displays green when it was sold at a profit, red when sold at a loss.
This means if you are viewing house prices, you don't have to faff about finding if a house has sold before and for how much then calculating how much of a gain/loss that is, you simply click.
So: install greasemonkey first
1] Using Firefox, go get PropertyChimp, which uses Greasemonkey
2] Install it (install greasemonkey first)
3] Go to http://www.houseprices.co.uk and see a new link called "fetch", click that and see the magic happen
copied from hpc.co.ukIt is nice to see the value of your house going up'' Why ?

It's just you copied/pasted that ... :P0
