Best off peak plans?

Well thanks to the confidence gleaned from MSE I now have a brand new contract with Orange on thier 120plan plus 1000 texts plus 75 pounds credit plus free Motorola Black V3 for 25pounds a month. :T

Well I have a question for you all. My sister is currently on the Orange Off peak 1000 mins plan/£30 a month tariff, which as far as I can see is no longer available on Orange's website. Are there any really good plans out there that she can switch to/threaten to switch to for an off peak xnet user? She's a student but can't claim 1000 texts/month on Orange as the student package is only available to 120/200/anytime+ tariffs.

Are there any packages/chances of negoiating 1000 mins off peak with text messages as well? I cant seem to find ANY text/offpeak call combo plans anywhere... not even for students... can you guys help? Her off peak mins must be xnet and she's willing to pay upto her current £30. She also was looking to get a new phone, possibly motorola v3 as well...

Hi Your sister will be pleased to know Orange still do the 1000 xnet offpeak mins plan, £25.00 per month, I've just got it through e2save with a Nokia 6230i after cashback it works out at about £10.42 per month, I am now trying to get e2save match OSPS's price. I didn't use OSPS cos alot of people are having problems with them on the boards at the moment.
I also looked on the Orange website and also didn't see the tarriff.

It also depends on what phone she wants to get and if she want to keep her number she will have to port it to someone like Virgin and (do a search on mobiles board for more info on this) then port it back to Orange as you can't transfer your Orange number to a new Orange tarriff directly

Have a look at the links below

My sis wanted to go down the same path as me since it worked so well... the whole 'Batter down your mobile costs' thing by going direct through Orange Retention department. It's all a bit hard since she's not too savvy about negoiating a better deal...

I think the best way is to find a direct from Phone company (ie orange t mobile etc.) tariff which she can threaten to go to unless Orange match it. It's just with seemingly so many mins, Phone companies seem reluctant to let people have Text combo packages. I wonder if anyone has actually gotten a text/offpeak combo direct from phone company?
