You remind me of a company who used to give a complimentary turkey and bottle of wine each Christmas. One year a spokesman demanded cash instead for those who did not eat meat/drink alcohol. When it was pointed out that this was a discretional gift which did not affect their pay or bonus, the rep stood his ground and insisted on an alternative. Needless to say, from that year onwards, the employees got nothing.

Tesco is in business - hence the discounts/freebies to tempt people into their stores and spend more - but you have the choice. You do not HAVE to go to that store: you do not HAVE to spend that amount: you do not HAVE to accept the freeby: you do not HAVE to use it yourself.

If you find you are eligible for something you would not use, take it anyway and pass it on to someone who would. The pleasure from this gesture - priceless!!!

I also saw the Tesco in Gateshead had this offer. It ends on Sunday 27th July and it's when you spend £30 or more.

Talking about diabetics and tesco, anyone seen sugarfree choc icecreams (like magnums) called freeze--not guilty. used to sell them in Bradford branch, seem to have dissapeared.

My husband and I went shopping at Tesco this morning. The kind lady cashier split our shopping into two. Just over the £50 to get the petrol voucher and the free tea and biccies then just over £30 to get a second lot of tea and biccies.

Had to pay twice of course, but worth it to get the double the deal. We just lined up separately at the desk with the tea and biccies and got the two lots! Very patient and kind cashier, good job no one was waiting to be served behind me!
