Smiths do have thin ruled paper (I used to work there) but maybe your branch doesnt - Have you tried cheapy newsagents and corner shops - I'm often suprised what i find in them!!0

for stationary in general, im slowly working my way through the stuff i have accumilated over the years rather than rushing out to buy stuff "cos it looks pretty" - which is saving me a small fortune, as i have hardly bought anything in ages
as for note taking pens - something no student should ever be without - nor have to buy! if you are clever enough to realise that almost every stand at freshers fair/careers fair throughout the year gives away free pens/pencils you'll never have to buy another biro again!!!!! :T :T :T
the one thing stationary wise i do splash out on each year is a good diary to help keep me organised, and a pretty notebook for writing all my assignments in. which this year seems to be paying off as im getting stuff done on time!
for those of you with your own printers, i'd recommend having a look at E-Inkjet for affordable cartridges for your printer, its a great little site which has saved me a small fortune.
as far as shops, if i do need to buy stationary then i prefer partners, in terms of range and the service you receive (for more specialised items). asda/tesco value products work just as well as the brand names (tesco lever arch files are fab
), or if you have spare points knocking around on your whsmiths clubcard, see what you can get in there :j know thyselfNid wy'n gofyn bywyd moethus...0 -
Also look in your local main Post Office. Have got several lots of printer paper there recently, £1.99 per ream for 80 gsm. Not bad. They put it on offer periodically so if you get a bit more then you think you need first tiem, chances are it will last til the next time they promote it.0

Tesco is our local supermarket at home anyway... Value ringbinders 36p or something stupid. Our Union shop is about £1.20 for a similar thing and Rymans £1.50 or something - a 10% discount isn't going to get you very far there...student100 hasn't been a student since 2007...0
