Just bare in mind one thing, and I support the idea of H4H, that buying merchandise except for wristbands goes to H4H Trading, a private company that pays the wages of people at H4H, if you want your money to go to H4H and the work it does, and not pay wages, buy a wristband or give money in the collecting tins or as a cash donation, that money does go to to the projects they run.
Might sound a mean post, but just pointing out that buying a T Shirt pays wages, donating money goes where you expect it to go, well as long as you realise that a Hero only exists post 9/11........Opinions are like bottoms - We all have one, just some stink more than others

... erm. Didn't the yanks train a considerable part of the Taliban when the Russians invaded? Also the Taliban are very well sponsored and armed. It is clear you don't know anyone who's been in 'Afghan' nor do you have a clue about modern history.
In as much as your sentiment is a valid one (although I do not agree with it) your justification that Op Herrick isn't a 'real fight' is completely wrong.0 -

Hi Deankent, I've sent you a private message just in case you are not checking this forum. Please check with your local Royal British Legion and SSAFA Forces Help. I work for SSAFA Forces Help myself and we help both servicemen and ex-servicemen as well as their families. Here is our website :
http://www.ssafa.org.uk/index.asp
For all the kind people on this forum, if you do know of someone similar to DeanKent's position ie. they don't qualify for H4H because they were prior to 2001, please send them our way. We estimate that a few million ex-servicemen and their families are eligible for help but are not getting it. Thank you0 -

Contact the Veterans agency,I did after I was laid off in June with a heart problem, the VA came out to see me & have arranged for me to have a medical next week to get me a War Disability Pension. They also arranged for the RAFA rep to call, who assessed my financial & personal circumstances &,a couple of weeks later,I was awarded a grant for over £2.6k to pay off some bills amassed since redundancy & periods of temporary work & for living expenses.
I wasn't expecting them to help as much as they did but I'm eternally grateful to them.0
