Old number hasn't ported across - what to do?
Typically, given that this is the first time I've ever changed mobile provider in 10 years of owning a mobile, my old number hasn't ported across from Orange to Vodafone.
I'm reluctant to accept the new number as having had the old number for 10 years most of my friends and family know it by heart and it appears on my business card and a few other places.
Can I just send the phone back and start again (even though it's been taken out of its packaging)?
And since I went through quidco before, can I go through that again or will it reject me for tracking twice?
Cheers for help.

Has there been a mess up or have you just received a new phone with an unwanted number?
When you port your number to a new provider using a PAC code your new phone does not have your old number associated with the SIM card straightaway. You get a temporary number which works until your notice runs out and the old network releases your number. When this is done the temporary number stops working and is replaced with your ported number.
The network should have given you a date for this to happen.
If you can`t see this date on your paperwork I`d ring the network and ask when the transfer will take place.
