not much choice on that front unless you download from orange world
anyone know how to convert your mp3's to a ringtone
Yes. You have to place the ringtones in the path of storage\application data\sounds as the phone will not pick them up elsewhere. Hope it helps!0 -
cheers ill try that out after once ive choose which one i want

the nokia 6680 is a symbian phone and there's alot of software that's been written for symbian...but! 6680 can't be unlocked w/o the help of your network as yet and i think Nokia's has just upgraded its Symbian series (the N phones aren't using symbian 6 anymore i think)
there r definitely less software available for Windows Mobile 2003 SE (SPV C550's OS)
having said that, with the recent launch of WM5.0, the newer software will probably tend to be tailored for use on WM5.0....
i've used both phones b4, and think the SPV is a much better phone in terms of usage aesthetics (nicer screen, more PC like)....both are probably just as slow in terms of processing, with the SPV taking a slight advantage though. In short, go for the SPV...but look to buy the C600 instead...the C550 will probably become obsolete pretty quickly (as with other phones running WM2003SE)

I just got a C550 to replace my C500. The extra features such as better screen and camera are nice as is the 512MB card. You can also unlock it yourself. However I find the new button arrangement a step backwards. The joystick works well but I didn't mind the old 4 way rocker switch on the C500 that others complained about. As the main buttons are bunched up tightly I find it a bit slower for text messaging although I may get used to it. The OS is a bit slower too. Also although a little bigger than the C500 it doesn't feel as solid. The reviews I have read didn't mention these negative points so maybe it is just me!

It's still a very good phone though and overall I am pleased with it. I will be sad to see the C500 go though!0 -

The n6680 is 3G if you have any interest in such things - for most people it just means the battery life is worse.
I thought the C600 was supposed to be a completely different phone to the C550, as opposed to just an next one up from it. Apparently the C550 is like a "music phone" version of the C500 (hence the media control buttons), whereas the C600 is the actual new version of the C500.
I've seen the C600 in real life - looks great... I'm considering getting one myself. I really like the Pocket MSN function which not only lets you use MSN Messenger on your phone, but also now allows you to use Hotmail straight from Pocket MSN as opposed to going to the webpage through the browser. The screen resolution is ultra clear too.0 -
OSPS have this for £335 for 12 months - after cashback - on the Orange Premier 600 tariff = 600 mins and 100 texts plus free insurance for less than £30 a month. This seems like a great deal, but I can't decide if the K750i would be better, or to wait for the forthcoming W810......decisions, decisions. Have never done the cashback thing - how are OSPS?0

Just been in Orange shop, SPV C550 is £130 but they give £20 trade in on any old handset. £110 is not bad as it comes with 512Mb mini SD card. People are paying this for 2nd hand ones on Ebay with less memory. Comet sell it for £110 online but I'm not sure about the memory.0
