Whilst visiting Hobbycraft at The Fort in Glasgow (totally the opposite sideof Glasgow from me) today I thought I would pop into Boots for a meal deal at lunchtime.

    Bad mistake (or was it!!!)

They had loads of the No 7 pink box GWP's so I just had to take four (as you do). They also had the rainbow pallettes/bronzer pallettes half price so I had to have one of them too. As I was only a few pounds away I just had to add something else to take it over the £20 so I could get the free GWP and remembered the suncare BOGOF so got two lip screens (and used the ACM voucher for 500 points).

So in effect my lunch cost me £24.00.

On the downside when I came home I opened the bronzing pallette to have a look and two of the shades are all smashed to bits.

I called Customer Services to see if it would be okay to take it back to a closer store as I didn't fancy another three hour treck there and back just to change a £4.50 bronzing pallette and a closer store may not have any in stock

He said I could but if they didn't have one in stock I would need to buy something else.

I didn't think this was right as it is not my fault the thing was damaged and I don't want anything else but he said this is company policy because it is cosmetics you can't get a refund.

I would have thought it wouldn't matter if it was company policy or not - if the item isn't fit for sale am I not entitle to a refund?

mi55moneypenny, you deserve a big THANK YOU:T for your earlier post RE: photo offers. I know there's a few different vouchers knocking about that could be combined, but not had the time to look into making the most of them. So thanks for taking the time to list all the different options for getting pics at a very low price. Much appreciated:D

Add 50p to it & 500pts when you buy No7 suncare, and then buy two x No7 dark spot sun stuff @£10.50 (BOGOF) and get the No7 GWP.....

    Any good?

    Very impressive mrs duck ;)

    Evening All

I don't know how to link to a previous post, so am pasting this in again, so people do not have to find it in previous thread.

I think I have spotted a glitch:p but need the expert bootsers on this forum to advise if this is correct.

Botanics Mens Moisturing Hand Cream SPF15 - some may get a voucher from ACM for 100 points. I have been sorting through my vouchers, ready to send to those I have advised, sorry been busy with DS. Noticed one has a 5 on the end, and another a 4......of the barcode...., does this mean you could put both through in one transaction? Obviously at separate intervals so SA doesn't notice and get 200 points for this product? It is valued at £4.95 in my local stores.

I've never tried the SS tills in Boots, is there a limit to how many coupons you can use, does it call for an assistant if your total goes too low from using them? And will the No 7 BOGOF then GWP and 500 points thing work on a SS till? So many questions, so little time...

ive used self scans and they work totally different from tescos one.doesnt matter how low the total goes as long as you have the correct product and coupons, unlike tescos  You can use as many coupons as you like as long as your sure they will scan because if you get a duffer that bleeps the till wont let you carry on,the screen goes blank until assistant comes over and asks what coupon your trying to use:eek: and sorts it out with her key thing and if it doesnt work, out comes all your shopping and she does it for you:eek:    lol.

also another thing to remember is when your scanning your coupons you cant just scan one after the other like tescos, you have to

    1 scan coupon
2 press coupon button on screen(this is a must or self scan will crash to blank screen and call for the assistant)
    3 insert coupon in slot
4 repeat with the rest of your coupons :)

and yes your 500 points and GWP works on self scan aslong as they not bleepers lol.
