Chris, it can't be difficult to keep up with the updates. You simply click on the thread and there they are in the first post.
The chat is often (amongst other things) posters mulling over various ways to use the current offers and vouchers and working out new glitches. Without the chat, there wouldn't be even half of the fab offers and glitches that get posted - so in my opinion, an awful lot of it has grown essential to the Boots "thing"!
If you lurk on this thread, you'll know what I mean I'm sure.
The rest of the chat is a community of friends which may not be essential to a quick Grabbit board - but as JTB has said, without it the thread wouldn't be the thread it is, and glitches wouldn't be worked out, simply because many of these 'things' (sorry - my word brain isn't working) are worked out by many heads and not just one.
I hope that made sense - but again, as jtb has already said, this has been discussed before, and CPG has resolved this as much as she can by working really hard to keep the first post as up to date as she can with all offers as they are confirmed.
Hope that answers your question.
(sorry - didn't see you'd already replied - I'm slow at typing today as I have a cold and have to keep stopping to sneeze and cough and blow my nose into BOOTS tissues <<<<kept it related...)0 -
Absolutely Chris - I'm the first to admit it takes a while to read through if you haven't been on for a while but Crazyposhgal does a fab job of keeping the first page up to date with all the glitches/voucher combinations etc so I tend to pop there first to check and then read through the rest (it's where I get my entertainment ! lol)
Am dreading going on hols too - won't even bother to try and catch up when I get back- this lot can't half natter (mentioning no names
) hehehe
Anyway i'm off to have my hair done (been growing it for 2 years, now time for a cut/style) - can start to use all my hair products from Boots then !
HAGD everyone xx:jWeight loss to date 1st 11.5lb :j0 -
chris........................ I personally love the friendly chit chat on the thread. We do swappsies and through TALKING arrange to help others find special items that may not be available to others in there area. I have made some excellent friends on here, and there advise and support always excells. We are all friendly on here and are more than happy to help if you dont understand and need extra help to work out the glitches.
I personally like it here, i dont always post very often but reading all the banter makes this rather funny at times.
And to make this not a chit chat message peeps - im going to boots today on route to hopsital............... going in search of one of those lovely palettes i saw a picture of and a pink box thingy. Its only a small store, will post my results on here later.BSC member 137

I know you said you have finished your botanics one and want to try something else but they have the offer on again for the botanics three minute hair mask. They are £4.99 each or 2 for £5 but they also have a voucher in the ACM for 250 points so equivalent of £2.50 for two tubs.
I did this and the SA also decided that you got free wipes with every Botanics product you bought, not just face and body, so she sent me off for two packs of wipes too.
Came back and they didn't scan free so she took the £7 off manually :j ...
She also said that hardly anyone used the ACM and didn't I have a lot of points! Are there none of you lot in Sheffield?0 -
Is that the one in the bullring or on the high street? Thanks hun! xxx
EDIT: Does anyone know if the tamworth (The retail park one), and central 6 in COV have clearances yet? As when i went a while ago they didn't.. xxxx
Itsthe one in the high street...they had some ted baker bags as well reduced yesterday near the lift but just the bigger ones were left as there is a ted baker acm voucher at the mo i think.
the boots on the way up to the library useually has a reduced section too on the isle up from the sandwiches.:o***MSE...My.Special.Escape***0 -
Oh well, hands in the air - it looks like I'm in the minority anyway
I do check the first page as Crazyposhgal does indeed do a fantastic job, but for the daily stuff, it's better to use the latest pages before she's able to update. But not all of the posts are Boots related. As I said in my post, I'm as happy to chat as the next person but this thread was started as a grabbit not a discussion thread.
Anway, I'm just exercising what I've accused other people of doing so I'd better finish now0 -
Chris
I completely understand what you are saying. If I haven't been on the thread for a few days, I have to skim through to see what glitches people have found, but as posts above show, we work together as a team to find these glitches and share information.
If you want to know the latest glitches, why don't you post a message asking and I am sure someone will be able to update you on what is current and how it works. That will be more useful to you I think. There have been some fab glitches on here, but when you read back through the posts, you find it may have finished recently, so it is always easier to read current post.
I have a possible current glitch that I have not yet been able to test out, I don't know if you would be interested?
Botanics Mens Moisturing Hand Cream SPF15 - when you buy some may get a voucher from ACM for 100 points. I have been sorting through my vouchers, ready to send to those I have advised, sorry been busy with DS. Noticed one has a 5 on the end, and another a 4......of the barcode...., does this mean you could put both through in one transaction? Obviously at separate intervals so SA doesn't notice and get 200 points for this product? It is valued at £4.95 in my local stores.

I do know what you mean Chris - I'm not around at weekends, from friday evening until monday sometime - and I've a choice between losing monday completely to catch up (LOL), skimming through the posts, or just reading from where the thread has got to and assuming any great glitches will be mentioned.
I generally 'skim' when I don't have time to read all posts and find that repeated mentions of same-ish stuff stands out and I get the gist of things, iyswim. But when good offers and glitches are discovered, it's generally shouted about - ie. capital letters, huuuuuge font, red coloured font, with 'glitch alert' or similar.0 -

Hi and welcome to the wonderful glitches at Bootsland.
I think we can all relate to the problem you have finding relevant info on the glitches as all of us are at some time or other, not able to read constantly. However, I would say that although this thread was started as a grabbit thread, these glitches are more complex than your average Butter is scanning at 0.20p @ Mr T's type thread. The glitches quite often only work in certain orders and there are SO many different variations in Boots (No 7 alone!) that it would be impossible to contain this beast (:rotfl: ) in a normal grabbit format!
I am relatively new here too and the people are SO friendly and never, ever, ever tell someone to 'do a search first!' or any of that nonsense so I think if you weigh it up, it's better to have a helpful thread than a clinical up to date hostile one. Just my opinion, but hopefully if you stay and join in you'll agree.
Now to make this post on topic, erm...Im hoping to get to Boots later to search for reduced Rimmel (see voucher provided by Your_Midnight_Fantasy, post No 175, page 9) :j0 -
I went to boots yesterday for some fresh makeup and on the till they had urban decay on clearance. Surreal Skin Liquid Foundation for £8. I got some to put away until I finish my rimmel, it was quite weird them selling it clearance as they don't even stock it in our branch.0
