Just wanted to say thanks to you mad lot for all your bargains and glitches you post! You're all very very bad people, as since I started reading this thread I'm addicted to bootsing!
Special thanks to broclo, who is obviously permanently glued to this site - I sent her a pm asking for the print vouchers for mitchum and rimmel, less than 2 mins later my comp beeped to inform me I had a new email. Guess who it was from??
The more I think about bootsing and you wonderful people, the more questions I have. (Just to warn you, I'm a nosy cow!:rotfl: ) So I thought I'd ease you all in to my interrogation of bootsers gently, by asking one question at a time. First of all:
What do you all do with your boots bargains, especially GWPs and other free stuff? Ie do you buy bargains & use them, or are you a hoarder? Reason I ask is because I'm a definite hoarder - I got my first no7 GWP the other day, now I keep looking at it and thinking it's so nice and pretty, really want to use it but don't want to spoil it:rolleyes: , so might have to get another one so I can keep it! I bought 2 of the pink box GWPs that are on discount, definitely don't need 2! Am I mad?:rotfl: :rotfl:OS weight loss challenge: 4.5/6 lbs0 -

I really need the no17 lip gloss gwp and eyeshadow gwps for my niece's birthday present, I don't suppose anyone wants to swap anything for them?Real men never follow instructions; after all they are just the manufacturer's opinion on how to put something together.0

Some of us make gift baskets with the free gifts and give them to charity or fundraisers to make a bit of extra cash.
Broclo is one of the best, her items go to the women's refuge in Cyprus.
I am in the process of sorting out my stash to make a gift basket for St Luke's Hospice for them to raffle to raise monies.
Other people do get 2 GWP, use one and keep the other as "best" to keep looking at it, so you are not mad. :-)
Some of us do xmas/birthday/new mum/etc baskets with them... so it really is upto you.
Nothing wrong with admiring a piece of art with the GWP. :-)0 -

Actually that's a really good idea - I volunteer for our local samaritans branch, & we regularly have raffles etc when we do a stall for promo & fundraising at the county show & other places. If I do gift baskets for the raffle then it makes my bootsing an even more worthwhile pursuit!:T Now, do boots sell baskets??OS weight loss challenge: 4.5/6 lbs0 -

No unfortunately not. Although some Bootsers on here, have mentioned Poundstretcher, Wilkinson, Ikea (i think), would have to look through the thread to find out.
There is another thread where they make nappycakes, etc, and they use baskets, so they might have ideas on where to get best baskets, cheap.
I got mine from a cheap shop, because I can't find anything I want locally.
But basically Boots are doing their bit for charity through us!0 -

It can take 2 to 3 days to organise emergency benefits, and quite often the women will have no money to buy food of any sort or toiletries for them or their children as they have left suddenly. The centres that they go to for shelter are not financially able to help them out so it is nice to make up boxes with basics like toilet rolls, some basic food items and of course things for keeping clean.
I stayed in one just over a year ago with my DS...(infact I left a year ago tommorow!) and the work they do is amazing, they have only enough funding to pay the bills, nothing else, so it is nice to put something back...recieving a box of things like toothpaste, baby wipes and pasta are heartbreaking when your in that situation.
So if any of you have a load of spare 'basic' toiletries sitting around, i'm sure your local one would be immensly grateful...plus it makes bloomin room!
My place is looking like a warehouse at the moment as I'm collecting new toys etc to take along at Christmas, it is amazing the 'doubles' that other mummies have recieved as gifts for their children
Anyway, I sound like I'm preaching or something, which i'm not, but if any of you have to make room for lots of girly boots bits, think about taking some basics along to a shelter as it amazing how grateful you can be to recieve some shower gel0
