Hi guys, here to say hi and goodbye for a bit, got to go and pay a birthday cheque in my lunch break, and then not in work tomorrow as going to Alton Towers with my sisters!
I will actually really miss chatting with you guys today and tomorrow!!!!!!!!!
I will be back with a vengeance on Friday to bore you all again with my meanderings before I go away:D
Kmac, parcel in the post to your home
Jo, enjoy your sleep, speak to you on Fri
really good idea about the get together I am in Birmingham, and definatley up to having it wherever.
crazy/kmac/jo, perhaps we could all swap a book when I return from holiday??? then pass it on, so we all get 3 new reads for the price of postage?
also, have you tried www.bibliomania.co.uk (think that's right) online books for when you're at the computer - watch your eyes though!!!
Love ya all, speak to you Friday:Dxxxxxxxxxxxxx

Hi All,
I havent managed to wade through all the posts on here yet but it sounds like the same kind of issues I have!
Food and money are my two pressures in life at the moment!
The only thing is at the moment I'm finding that its actually the food thats free (i.e. freebies from work or snacks at friends houses) that are adding on the pounds to my waistline!
I'm trying to find a way to make sure I'm full up enough of healthy foods so that I dont want the free stuff but without increasing the cost of my weekly shop!
Any ideas??
Thanks

Hi Freeme, Welcome! I know what you mean, I have a big cupboard at work full of free chocs and biscuits which i eat far more often than I should!
I'm not sure of what to suggest other than making larger portions of your evening meals like batches of spag bog or chile which are cheap to make and can be frozen or eaten at work the next lunch time. I try to do that at least once a week and it does fill me up longer than sandwiches.

A bookswap sounds ideal BF, I'm bound to have a few books at home that I've read so many times now that I can swap them.
Just had lunch and I'm totally stuffed!! I'm lucky cause I can sit at my desk and post away, my boss here is amazing, I'm his PA so he lets me get on with things as long as his work is getting done - hence why I can post here so often!
How did everyone manager over lunch? Any "naughties"? I had 2 - I had a bag of malteasers AND a chocolate milkshake. Should have only had the 1 but took both.    xx:heart2: Its 12 o'clock and I need your attention :heart2:Debt at Aug 2008 : Bank of Scotland CC : £1605 :mad:Overdraft : GONE!:j:staradmin Debt free aim: Sometime in 2009:staradmin0 -
Hiya, I'm back; paid in my cheque and then wondered round waterstones, getting away with this post as I'm still eating, lol (American cheesy chicken panini :O) oh well, it's my birthday... sheepish grin!
Welcome freeme, I know exactly what you mean, I get loads of freebies at work, which are cheaper to eat than my own healthy lunch and snacks!! You'll find this thread extremely helpful and supportive if you stick around; post often, we'll dissaude you from any naughty sweets.... (Kmac not being a very good example with the choc milkshake and the malteasers LOL ) Your boss sounds great
When I'm back from hols in Sept, I will organise a book swap on this thread, so anyone interested have a dig around your bookshelves and I'll post when I'm back:D
I got a £20 voucher from work, so went into Waterstones and spent £23 on The English Harem - Anthony McCarten; Innocent Traitor - Alison Weir (thanks Kmac!!) and The Winter Mantle - Elizabeth Chadwick
While at the till I heard someone next to me ask 'do you sell book vouchers' and the guy at the till managed to talk her into buying a Waterstones gift card instead... grrrrrr I bet that's what they did to my colleague who was meant to be buying me book vouchers!!! LOL
Have a good day everyone!!!! xPersonal challenge: Do without as much as possible to pay off £12k by 07/2009!!!:T
