I loved her series on George 5th as I used to live 2 minutes walk from the Brighton Pavillion!!
The Shakespeare secret is absolutely brilliant, I borrowed it off a friend a month ago with the intention of taking it on holiday.... but I caved:o !!
Have you read the The Hisotrian by Elisabeth Kostova?
If you like History type things you should try your hand to Janet Paisley's books about the Jacobites (White Rose Rebel). I used to live really near Culloden and now I live near Prestonpans so Jacobite county for me
Anna Setons book Devil Water is great as well - its about a Catholic nobleman who joined the short-lived Jacobite rebellion of 1715:heart2: Its 12 o'clock and I need your attention :heart2:Debt at Aug 2008 : Bank of Scotland CC : £1605 :mad:Overdraft : GONE!:j:staradmin Debt free aim: Sometime in 2009:staradmin0 -

lol - that's weird, I am in the middle of the historian right now! Enjoying it, but it's a little heavy for holiday reading; you really have to sit and get into it... I might take it for lying by the side of the pool, but the text is a little too small for the dim light on the aeroplane (makes me go woozy_pale_:D )
I will look for Alison Weir, Janet Paisley and Anna Seton! My usual trick is to read the first page, shut the book and see if I want to carry on reading. If I do, I'll buy it, if not I wont...stingy, but it ensures I usually get a really good read!! Most of the time anyway....:rolleyes:Personal challenge: Do without as much as possible to pay off £12k by 07/2009!!!:T

Crazy, charity shops are a great place to look out for Jean Plaidy!! Or any good read for that matter (Also the library, but if you're like me and end up accumalating a £10 fine, charity shops are better :rotfl:)Personal challenge: Do without as much as possible to pay off £12k by 07/2009!!!:T

I need a new holiday book as well, so any suggestions? We seem to like the same kinda of novels!!
I read a great series of books a couple of years ago and I'm really annoyed that I cant remember who wrote them. Basically the story was set in 2 times, present day and the past. The main character wasn't a time traveller as such but they had dreams and things about history.. sounds very strange but was amazing!! xx:heart2: Its 12 o'clock and I need your attention :heart2:Debt at Aug 2008 : Bank of Scotland CC : £1605 :mad:Overdraft : GONE!:j:staradmin Debt free aim: Sometime in 2009:staradmin0 -
