Isn't it just easier to park elsewhere? You have no implied right to park on a road immediately outside a property - any road user can park anywhere unless there are any restrictions. If the bay is no longer valid or potentially likely to be removed there's nothing stopping her parking there anyway.

I'm not denying her or anyone else the right to park there anewman just don't think she should be able to scream at people who manage to get there before her, often when the space behind is also free. Like Amanda65 says she doesn't have the divine right to park there either.

"disabled parking bay which has been put in place specifically for one particular person."

They are provided on request of a disabled person living at an address, but legally they can be used by anyone displaying a blue badge.

When the intended benefactor dies/moves house etc etc the Council must be informed and if there is no longer a requirement for the space it will be removed.

Call your Council and speak to the Highways Department.

I ask this as a friends neighbour has put a disabled space partially across the front of her house

That implies the neighbour has marked out the "bay" themself.
Was this the case or was it officialy carried out by the council? If so, as others have suggested, contact the council, explain the abuse and sit back and watch while it gets removed.

Line marking spray costs a few quid a can and is available in white, yellow, blue, green, red, and most importantly black
I'd be empted to go along one night with a can and spray over their bay, just to see the look on their face :rotfl:

Unfortunatly the paint will probably wear away in a few weeks, but still!
