Personally i think if you know your dog is dog agressive then you need to take precautions to avoid your dog injuring others. If you can't trust the dog off lead then please don't let it off where its possible you may meet another dog.
I own greyhounds, not staffy's but do come across people with negative views of the breed who assume they will eat their fluffy dogs (even the trainer's helper would scoop up her mini poodle while we did re-call) and they are fine with small dogs. For the first month we owned them we muzzled because we didn't know how they were with dogs, had they shown aggression i'd of kept them muzzled even though i don't not off lead (zero recall outdoors). I feel for you as its difficult to avoid off lead dogs and sometimes those on flexi-leads whose numpty owners let them wander over. If you do muzzle then it would be a good idea to get something like that direct stop citronella spray or an pet correcter air can in case you do meet an aggressive off lead dog as your dog can't protect itself.0 -

Didn't know there was a statute of limitations on threads. Accidentally stumbled on this thread and the topic, though nothing to do with money-saving is something I feel very strongly about and voiced an opinion.
Hope your staff is alright now.0 -

Thanks! She's getting there, the wound on her head hasn't healed yet (3 weeks or so after) but she did keep knocking it & the scab kept coming off, hopefully it's going to heal up now! I never used to care if Dogs were muzzled or not but since that I wish they all were if off lead at least, cause I don't trust ANY Owners of off lead Dogs to call them away! (Which is a shame cause many can control their off lead Dogs & do).
The other day though my friend saw a Boxer (Muzzled but off lead) drag another Dog (Springer) under the water at the country park & hold it there which she said was terrifying. Luckily the Springer was ok. What suprises me is hit a Dog in your Car & you're supposed to report it, but if a Dog attacks your Dog the Police don't care! If a Dog attacks another it's obviously out of control & should be on a lead!0 -
