how to insure car not driven and kept on drive

    In case anyone else needs this My dh is insured with elephant and they offered him weekly insurance on the second car for £16 which wasnt bad though this still allowed us to drive it (3 drivers) which was a godsend inthe end as his midlife crisis car seems to be off the road for a while.

    Leave it uninsured on the drive, unless you think it's gonna be stolen it'll probably be fine, my car has sat there for 6 months with no problem and it's a car that a thief may target

    It might be worth putting 6 months tax on the car to sell it anyway. A lot of people would be put off by the lack of tax, purely because of the hassle involved in getting it home. They have the choice of risking it, trailering it or taxing it. Bearing in mind that cars tend to be sold at the weekend, it probably means they have to wait a week to collect if it's taxed after sale. There's the test drive issue too.

    Depending on the kind of car it could make a difference to the selling price that at least covers the tax.

    Leaving a car on the drive for six months especially with winter coming is not good for the car and his likely to cause problems with items failing/seizing.
