Talktalk Broadband £100 Quidco - I'm confused...

Options
First of all, I've scoured MSE for any mention of this and I'm amazed it's not discussed anywhere...

http://www.quidco.com/talktalk/
£10 for a landline sale as a new customer to Talk Talk
£5 for a customer broadband upgrade
£100 for a broadband sale

Anyway, I'm a bit confused as the Quidco page talks about the Broadband having a monthly cost (depending on the package) but if you go to the Talktalk website it's all sold as a bundled package with home phone, and the broadband is FREE on all packages.

As an example let's take the Talk Global Evening & Weekend package.

The Quidco page says "Broadband from £6.49 a month (currently £3.25 for the first 3 months)"

But on Talktalk the Broadband is described as "free" - it's the price plan for the calls that is actually £6.49 a month / £3.25 for first 3 months.

Being naturally suspicious I'm just concerned that cashback will be declined on the basis that a "broadband sale" didn't actually take place as the broadband was "free", and instead they'll only pay £10 "for a landline sale as a new customer to Talk Talk".

Or am I simply to infer that I'll get £110 if I move my home phone and broadband to Talktalk by taking up one of their bundles?

I've just looked and I am as equally suspicious..

I am just about to change to Talk Talk or Tiscali and this would definately swing me to Talk Talk. Plus looking at other posts on Tiscali turns me off them.

I can't see how you can ask questions about this on the Quidco site. Unless you have to raise a Ticket???

  • Hi

I intend to switch my home phone and broadband to this provider anyway over the next few weeks and was very happy to see this offer come onto quidco. However, the same questions ran through my mind so I emailed them and this was my response.

    My email to quidco :
talk talk - I am wondering how much cash back I would get with talk talk if I take up their offer and buy the evening and weekend and broadband package. Do I get £100 for the broadband and £10 for the landline? Or is it just either the £100 or the £10? Thanks

    My reply from quidco :
thanks for your enquiry. As the Talk Global Evening & Weekend package with TalkTalk is a broadband package, the cashback should just be the £100 amount. If you were to take out a landline with the merchant without broadband, the cashback would be £10. Kind regards, Stuart

I hope that helps and am glad to see Im not the only one who thinks up these 'problems'!
    Current mortgage 133k
    Purchase price 171k
    Fixed deal ends sept 2019
    Current repayments 640pm
    Savings approx 60k

Sign up for the Talk Global Evening and Weekedn package and pay the monthly charge and they will giove you broadband for free (OK, OK so we all know its just chucked in with the price!). Quico signup must be done before 1 August 2008 and must ALL be done online (no quick call to custoemr service to check something).

I was looking at the as our quarterly BT bill is usually about £30 per quarter (light user scheme). So over the next 18 months we will pay £3.25 x 3 and £6.50 x 15 = £107.25 + £30 connection + £30 wireless router.

Knock off the £100 quidco and get broadband for £67.25. From this we can deduct the costs of calls made on mobile as we will use the evening and weekend package and overall "cost" goes down further.

Plus customer service calls are free

    Am I reading that right?

    Are Talk talk good folks?

Methinks you've also to add on £10.50pm for line rental

Not overlooked the line rental. Im paying and will be paying that anyway. Its about how much my phone bills usually are. What i was working out is the EXTRA cost for the broadband usage

    Hi,
I spotted this on Sat and signed up. Was a bit suspicious but figured I could cancel early if not tracking. Tracked at £100 on Monday afternoon!!
Went for the evening / weekend package.
