Would restricting viewing of the forums to registered members only speed things up a bit, I know they do this on other forums in busy periods? Only allowing one user name to be tied to one email address for new members. Also not having new membership becoming live until 24 or 48 hours after you've confirmed your email address.
Oh yes and merge threads that are on the same topic.0 -
I know its not perfect - but i'm sure you'll agree the fact the site is a bit quicker (load average down by 70%) and you can now actually use the search, is a big improvement!
I am on dial up and find the recent changes have made a great difference to the speed of the site.May i suggest you right click when you press reply that way you will keep both windows open
Wow! That's fantastic! Being unable to see the previous posts was driving me nuts. Especially when I typed my reply and then couldn't remember the name of the person I was replying to.
Thanks, you've made life easier for me.

Windows 2003?
I have to say this: If the servers ran windows, they'd have been anihilated by now.... so Windows 2003 wouldn't be much help
The servers run open source Operating Systems (Debian & RedHat)This is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0 -

And all of these will also work in other browsers such as Opera and Avant.
As you can see Firefox is a more usable browser than IE, as are most other browsers, but not more usable than Opera.
