PAC & number porting query - please help
Hello all,
Was wondering if anyone can give me some advice. My contract with Vodafone is coming to an end soon and I want to keep my number, but a lot of the big service providers don't seem to accept number porting from Vodafone. However, when I called Virgin mobile directly they said they can accept the porting. The downside to this is that obviously Virgin do not have competitive deals like some of the other big service providers.
So I was wondering if I obtain a PAC from Vodafone and port to Virgin (on a PAYG basis), how long do I have to wait before I can request a PAC from Virgin so that I can port to one of the better contract deals offered by say eg o2? I tried asking the Virgin customer service rep, but couldn't get a straight answer, so any responses or advice would be greatly appreciated.
TIA and sorry for the long winded text

I can't believe that Virgin is the only network you can move your number to.
You should be able to obtain a PAC code as soon as your transfer is activated.0 -
I seem to recall from a thread somewhere that Virgin have relatively recently introduced a 3 month of £30 spend on their PAYG before you can port away again?
It would be nice if someone could confirm this or otherwise.
I too am looking to port to a PAYG somewhere whilst I wait for the release of the HTC Touch Pro on a reasonable deal.0
