Basically I'm trying to cut back at the moment. I only have a landline for the internet so was thinking about scrapping my landline and current broadband deal for mobile broadband but having read some of the treads on here maybe that isn't a very good option.
Any thoughts welcome! (NB I'm not in a cable area)
Thanks!

Same scenario here LT. However upon some research I found O2 were the fastest internet service, with TalkTalk and Orange second and third.
Obviously O2 and Orange offer phone line broadband as well as mobile, but if these figures are anything to go by they may be worth considering for mobile broadband.
If you have mobile contracts with either then it could work out fairly cheap.0 -

Depends on what you're looking for, ADSL is between 3mbps and 8mpbs
Then, if you're in a GSM, EDGE, 3G or HSPDA mobile coverage area you'd get between 9.2kbps and 3mbps - a huge range of service.
Mobile generally sets much lowers 'fair use' caps on download volume, maybe 1Gb A MONTH.0 -
ADSL is between 0mbps and 8mbps. There are a few flavours of ADSL2+ that'll give you 24mbps.
HSPDA can give you up to 14.4mbps technically, but the fastest that's in use is 7.2mps afaik.
Mobile broadband is fine, and plenty fast for browsing the web assuming you've got the coverage for the network you choose, and the specific type of coverage. Good GSM coverage and good 3G coverage are different things altogether.
The limits are usually very low, definitely no use for torrent monkeys, but more than adequate for IMing and web browsing. They say it's genetic, they say he can't help it, they say you can catch it - but sometimes you're born with it0 -

There you go folks, we may as well stop discussing it. digp has spoken, and I don't see anyone else coming up with an argument half as convincing as his. They say it's genetic, they say he can't help it, they say you can catch it - but sometimes you're born with it0 -
Thanks everyone. Guess I've got a bit more research to do!0
