I dont think you can get false positives, or if you can I'm sure they are very very rare.
It could just be that there isnt as much HGC int he second wee.:j Baby boy Number 2, arrived 12th April 2009!:j0 -
I think the answer is that you can get a false negative but not a false positive.
The ones which are positive may just be a little more sensitive than the negative ones - you are still very early on so you will not have loads of pregnancy hormone in your wee.
Don't get suckered into buying the very expensive tests - they are not any more sensitive than the cheapies most of the time.
There is a report somewhere will see if I can find it but it definitely doesn't rate clearblue ones -
Also - if you are testing with your first wee of the day you may get a positive, followed by a negative for yourr second wee (the hormone which it tests for takes time to build up)
Good luck!

Can anyone offer advice.
My period was due on the 3rd Nov, I did a test day after and on Friday gone and they said negative. First lot were 3 for £1 in 99p store and second which I did on friday was £2.99 chemist.
Now its Tues 11th and my period still has not arrived. I haven't done another test yet a other half says to wait two weeks. I can't, I'm too curious. I'm getting stomach cramp and wind just a with my first pregnancy. Has anyone had this, can you advise. My periods are like clockwork never late.0 -
Shade I have replied to you on the other thread.
OP - Tesco own tests are not as cheap as Asda but are a fiver for two and are easy to read and a clear result (well it was for me anyway) best of all the result doesn;t fade so you can keep looking at it! lol I kept mine as a reminder of my baby that I lost but before I lost it I loved looking at my tests and knowing I had a little life in me.
i did also use a Clearblue digital but the screen goes blank after 24 hours so you lose the result (I took a picture though lol).:cool: DFW Nerd Club member 023...DFD 9.2.2007 :cool::heartpuls married 21 6 08 :A Angel babies' birth dates 3.10.08 * 4.3.11 * 11.11.11 * 17.3.12 * 2.7.12 :heart2: My live baby's birth date 22 7 09 :heart2: I'm due another baby at the end of July 2014! :j

Ebay pregnancy tests (15 for £3 delivered) are just as good. No fancy digital display, just a tiny little stick to dip.
The early ones (10 mIU) are the best to get, because they pick up a lesser concentration of HCG (pregnancy hormone) earlier.
I've used these on both pregnancies, this pregnancy was picked up within a couple of days after conception."Beauty is in the eye of the beholder and it may be necessary from time to time to give a stupid or misinformed beholder a black eye."...Miss piggy0 -
I used the Ebay dropper ones too and found them fine. Earliest result was Asda own brand which gave me my positive 4 days before period was due.0
