Just a quick question - Does anyone know if pregnancy tests are cheaper in the supermarket (Co-op so pretty expensive) or the chemist??
Thanks

I think I remember reading that you can get cheap tests at pound-shops e.g. PoundLand. Don't bother with the fancy clear-blue tests. You're mainly paying for the packaging. I know that at my local chemist you can get a test for about £3, or two tests for a fiver.
If you're worried about the expense, make sure you don't test too early. Wait until a few days after your period is due. Also, I think most GPs will do a test for free.0 -
ASDA do them 2 in a box for £1.
I got it from a an ASDA superstore from the pharmacy bit. Husband spotted them.
they are just the strip ones and you're expected to wee into a cup you provide yourself.
Did the trick though. It was positive.:cool:0 -

Bit of a problem with waiting til my period is due - I'm still breastfeeding my 6 month old, so haven't had a period for well over a year.
It's just that I've got that metallic taste in my mouth again that I had when I was pregnant with him... Think I'll have a wonder down to the chemistDebts May 09 [strike]£100 Od[/strike], [strike]£1550 boiler[/strike], [strike]£1750[/strike] £400 credit card  Goal - to 3k of savings by Oct 2009 in time for Baby num 2 :j Total so far £12000 -

i wonder how they used to determine pregnancy before the days of weeing on a stick and a piece of text saying pregnant or not comes up. or the blue line in some cases.
any one got any ideas?
do you need luck >>? i Mean is it good luck you will have if your not pregnant or you are pregnant ...
I mean i wish you all the best but its not really lucky if you turn out to be not pregnant or then again if you turn out to be pregnanat unless of course you want another baby or dont as the former may be

Think the doctor could confirm pregnancy by the fact he could feel the top of the woman's uterus but this wouldn't happen until 9th or 10th week of pregnancy so before then the woman could guess she was expecting but couldn't have it confirmed so no such thing as an early pregnancy test
Good luck Yorkshire Chick0 -
did you get the luck you wanted ?

Cheap pregnancy tests are just as good as the expensive ones. Why spend £20 on a clear blue one when you can get the asda ones for £1?
Plus, even when you've taken one test, you always feel like doing another just to be sure lol!0
