Increase Fixed Price listing sales - How?

I have recently started selling audio books on ebay and wondering if anyone has any tips and tricks to increase sales? I know it sounds ironic - but the item I am selling is an audio book about increasing sales!!

I am struggling to get my item description right, does anyone have advice?

My main item is below - I don't know if I am allowed to post this link, please let me know and I will remove it.

Any advice will be thanked!

You are not supposed to link to your own auctions but I confess I had a look in case there was anything obvious.

I did notice that if you look at completed listings this 6 CD set finishes in the region of £15 and that is probably the ceiling price for it on ebay. I think it is just that you are too expensive and whilst others sell cheaper you can't win.

Interestingly it appears to be a fair to good seller on Amazon, currently 98,002 in the rankings and with the cheapest seller at £29.95 and that would net you around £24-£25 which includes the postage uplift.

I have sold a few in the region of 30 since the beggining of June - so I don't see price is the biggest problem - also I offer things other sellers don't. Thank for the amazon tip though, sounds like something to look into.

Was their any obvious mistakes? I know it sells - I just want it to sell more :D

Where were you selling them before then, can you try them again? Your ebay sales are showing at 3 at £17.99 and one on a best offer at £20 , one with free postage at £19.99 and several more at £19.50 plus 50p postage, which supports the statement that these are too expensive for ebay at your current price of £26.99 inclusive of postage.

On ebay too. I am trying to find the best price for it. I have sold a few for the top price of 24.99 - most at 19.49 and some at 17.99 still trying to work it out.

I don't think there is any obvious way of increasing sales on this item except to try different markets. Although you say you have sold at the higher price, you haven't recently which supports the theory that the price is being forced down , and this is fairly normal for business.

Thanks, I may give amazon a try. Just see how it goes, maybe get the price down.

    Thanks for your help.

Pricing is inherently difficult, I'm lucky on certain things I use it to slow sales down if stock is getting low.

But a £1 can make a huge difference from no sales to something selling freely.

You are selling your item at £25 and not selling many. If you drop your price to £20 and sell 10 times as many in a week or £15 and sell 100 times as many a week then you have to look closely at your margins. Assuming for arguments sake you pay £12.50 each and all selling costs are £2.50 it is obviously not worth selling at £15 as you make no money. But at £20 you sell say 10 a week then you have made £50 profit. If you sell at only one at £25 you have only made £10 profit.

So If it was me I would be pricing around the £20 mark making small adjustments when stock is high or low.

Far too many sellers look too hard at actual profit on a single item and not the overall profit that can be made by selling multiple items.

I have looked at your listing, and for me there is too much text, too many different fonts, and the pale colour in the background made it look bland. I got bored and fed up of reading it.
From past experience it is much better to use one strong font in one colour and get straight to the point in less words than you used. I had a quick look on ebay and saw this listing to give you an idea of what i think is a better listing.

I personally found this information more direct and straight to the point, hope this helps you
