swapping ISA's within the same company.

My OH and myself have just over £6500 each in the Nationwide instant access ISA. If we wanted to swap it over t there members ISA which pays .25% extra would this be an immediate transaction or is it the same process as swapping from one company to another?

And I know I could get a better deal elsewhere, and probably will soon, but just wondering if this an easy way to get a bit extra with no real work.

Providing the members isa accepts transfers in, they might be able to do it in branch for you, sorting out the transfer quickly and easily. (I've done this with another provider and it was very easy and straightforward.)

Skipton accept transfers in and they're offering a fixed rate for 18 months of 6.5% at the moment. Excellent customer service there too.

you may find you cant... myself and the missus were not able to transfer in last years isa (within FD & HSBC) into a new This year ISA within the same group.
