    Is it possible to build a website and run it from the computer/HD itself without the need of uploading/hosting it to/in a website?

    Absolutely not, Unless you turn your PC into a server..

    By server, do you mean a proper server machine or using the same computer but turning it to a server using software such as PHPweblog, PHPSlash...etc. as i did?

    its free and lets you send files of up to 1gb at a time.

    I would convert the movies into avi divx format to reduce filesize as much as possible.
