6 GB of space!? for free?! cant see that happening...if you want that kinda storage space i would be tempted to look at US server providers...but im guessing for that kinda storage space you will be looking at prob bout 10£pm...if you still wanna know more i can tell you the server i use in the states who give large amounts of space...even so i think you should reconsider this kind of set up...it will take ages for you to upload 6gb and also ages for anyone to d/load.0

120$ not pounds ~ £68py0 -
do you really mean gigabytes? what are you trying to show - an actual film (as in cinema / dvd type length)? as the previous poster noted it will take a very long time to upload that amount of data (we're talking days potentially - especially as upload speeds tend to be considerably less than download on most connections).
as for someone just going onto the site and pressing play - have you visited the apple trailer site (http://www.apple.com/trailers/) recently? go take a look, select a trailer and see what happens, it will wait until it has buffered enough to complete the trailer before starting to play the buffered amount. now granted there are other ways of doing things but given that you're talking about gigabytes i don't think it will matter how you do it - it's not going to be pretty."Don't go around saying the world owes you a living. The world owes you nothing. It was here first." (Mark Twain)0 -

well there are file sharing tools that allow you to "host" files in a peer 2 peer fashion. unfortunately ad far as i know the forum rules dont allow talking about peer 2 peer technology irrespective of wether it is for legal use becasue most people use them for illegal purposes.0

Provided your home connection is unlimited (and has a speedy upload), you could set up an FTP server on your computer and let family/friends access the videos that way (while the computer is switched on).
Also, what compression are you using for your videos? Try XViD/DivX, it should get the file sizes down a bit.0
