No Resolution With Vodafone After > 3 Months Agro And No Phone
My experience with vodafone since upgrading my contract in April has been a completly awful (an understatement).
I had completed a relatively problem free 12 month contract with vodafone so decided to continue with the service, when I upgraded I was told that I would have to have an 18 month contract I did not think this would be a problem as I had had no real problems. (what a big mistake)
I recieved my new phone on the 14th of April sony ericcson w890i silver, this hand set was faulty so I phoned to complain and was issued a replacement. When this handset arrived at first it would not charge properly when I phoned I was told it was probably a fault with the charger and I would be sent a replacement. A few days later I was sent the wrong charger so again I phoned and was told that I would be sent another one, over the next couple of weeks there was no sign of a charger and the handset developed more faults ie turning itself off and not holding charge. I phoned yet again and was told it would be picked up for repair again. It was sent on the 9th of june and was recieved on the 10th. I was told it would take upto 7 working days to be returned, I tried to track the phone using the online tracker but this gave no real information so I began calling vodafone to find out where it was and what was happening. Each time I got the answer that it needed parts and would be ready soon.
Eventually I was sent a text by vodafone on 07/07/08 saying
"Dear *****, your device is now on its way back to you via royal mail. You will recieve it tomorrow at the address provided - please ensure that someone is available to accept the delivary "
Although it meant I had to take a day off work without pay I had gone almost a month without having a fully working phone. After 5 pm the phone had not been delivered so I once again phoned your offices and explained my situation to the operator whose name was Rick he told me that there was nothing that he could do at that time and that I should call the next day and speak to somone in the Resolutions department. On wednesday I again phoned but was told that there was no such thing as a resolutions department but that they would chase my handset for me.
The phone was delivered and recieved by girlfriend who luckly was in on Wednesday afternoon when I got home I charged the phone and took it with me the next day. Once again the hand set was faulty this time either switching itself off of asking that Sim be inserted.
By now I was getting a bit !!!!ed off so I phoned again to your offices and asked what they were going to do to about the phone and how they were going to compensate me.
They explained that they would send a courier to pick up the faulty replacement phone and send me a brand phone within the next day, they also talked with me about refunds some compensation and also look at some gesture for the troubles caused.
To this day we are still waiting for the phoen to be collected an dthe new ones to be delivered - this is now a week ago.
I have spoken to several operators who have promised various things from getting my phone picked up, replaced, compensating me for loss of earnings and for a manager to call me back. To date none of this has happend.
Today I phoned yet again and spoke to an operator called Gareth, he told me that vodafone are not in any way responsible for the handsets as they are just a network provider he would be able to offer one month free line rental which is more than a manager could offer. When I asked to speak to a manager he said that they would not offer me anything else. I still asked to speak to a manager but he refused to put me through. I have asked to speak to a manager on two other occasions both times I was told I would be called back within 24hrs this did not happen on either occasion.
I am truly disgusted with the handling of this situation I have been more than patient and understanding, all I have had are lies and broken promises. I would like a swift resolve to this situation. It is as a direct result of vodafone that I have lost a days pay ( which is around £80) and that because the hand set has been sent for repair and the memeory wiped that I have lost all the downloads to my phone (around £20). I want to be compensated for loss of earnings in cash and credited for lost downloads and given a brand new WORKING handset, but not a w890i as these are obviously faulty. Three months free line rental would be a nice gesture on your behalf considering all the crap I have had to endure.
I am posting here in the hope that something can get resolved - or at least a working phone!
Thanks
