Won't stop them all. Especially the annoying repair your Sky box ones. They just don't take any notice.0 -
If you are a BT customer you can also sign up for BT Privacy free of charge, which includes free caller display (used to cost per quarter) and also includes registration on the TPS as above.0

Since joining the TPS, I'd say about 95% of those annoying calls have stopped for us.0

We still get quite a few of these calls despite being on TPS and the companies that do it just don't care when you mention it to them that they shouldn't be ringing.0

Being TPS registered can help but - as some have said - won't stop all. Try just saying "Sorry, give me a second" and then walk away as the call costs them.0

We don't get any at all. We are ex-directory and been on the TPS and BT privacy since we moved here.
If they constantly bother you, you can report them, as if they aren't checking against the TPS I'm sure they will be breaching some law or other...0 -

I used to get that, then I started getting "TPS is for people selling goods/services, but we are conducting a survey, therefore we are exempt".
Now I say "hang on I'll get X" and leave them hanging on.Move along, nothing to see.0 -

Those nice people at BT have been charging me 2 quid a month for something I can get for free. Another BT "We Care" moment. Where's my Christmas card list...
XLN all the way, business folks.. put some manners on those clowns at BT.

I loved that episode of Seinfeld where Jerry gets a marketing call and he says "I'm a bit busy at the minute, why don't you give me your home number and then I'll call you back later". The person on the other end of the phone says he can't do that, and Jerry says "I guess you don't want people calling you at home" and then puts the phone down.0
