No, the laptop I'm using only has a reinstallation cd too!!
I've been told to avoid PC World, so will try to go with some little local person!:o I was hoping to linger while they fix it so if it were ever to happen again, I might have some idea of what to do!!!!
I really do appreciate your help!! And, you have been reassuring me that the data should be able to be saved!:beer:If you think nobody cares whether you're alive or dead, try missing a couple of mortgage payments.

Maybe you could find a student willing to help.
PC World will charge you far too much money for what is a very simply job.
Check your local newspaper in the small ads section!0 -
I was just thinking that maybe this could be caused by a loose cable, it would be
easy to check on a PC, dunno about a laptop though. I expect they get knocked
about more than a desktop. Can't do any harm to check everything is seated properly.0 -

Thank you for the suggestion though, and any other suggestions will be gratefully recieved!:)If you think nobody cares whether you're alive or dead, try missing a couple of mortgage payments.

I used to have the same problem but with my Desktop computer. I tried everything from re-formatting windows to everything else you could think of, but i then realised it wasnt getting enough ventillation, and i installed another fan and blew all of the dust out of it with an Air Compresor. After this the error never came back up. Now being it you having a laptop, you should leave it off for a while when you arnt using it, such as when you drop your children to school. Also if you have it on your lap or on your bed etc... there is no where for cool air to flow into the laptop. I dont know if any of these ideas help but you can surely give them a go.
Also you can buy laptop coolers which are powered by USB which the laptop sits on and the fans from the cooler blows cool air into the laptop.
Good Luck0 -
People do say to not put a laptop on your lap or a bed as the air circulation is cut offNo Links in Signature by site rules - MSE Forum Team 20
