Will I need a MAC?

Hello all

I'm usually pretty switched on when it comes to techie type stuff, but, this is one thing I hadn't thought about.

I am moving house in a couple of weeks and was considering changing my broadband provider. Now, I know that if you wan't to change your Provider that you would ordinarily need a MAC...does this still apply if I am moving? Or can I just cancel it and start with another?

your current ISP can arrange a house move for you, but that will usally commit you to a new contract, so you'll be better offf starting again

MACs are for "seamlessly" migrating from one isp to another on your current line, and of no use in your circumstances.

Get your cancellation to your present ISP in now as it will require a month's notice - or in your case, payment in lieu - if you decide to cancel and start afresh with someone new.

You may be stuck with your taking your present company to your new house if you are still within a minimum period - they will want cancellation fees to let you out of such a contract.
